The Anambra State Association Of Town Unions (ASATU) has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Charles Soludo for Governor.
The association made up of  All the Presidents General of the communities in twenty-one local government areas of  the state, Women Leaders,Youth Leaders and others converged at ASATU Hall Government House and unanimously  endorsed the Soludo and Ibezim ticket.
Addressing the gathering, the National President, Anambra Association Of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo said they gathered to discuss the issues on hand in the state as the fourth tier of government and having  assessed the candidates who came out to vie for the governor’s seat come November Six, they concluded that former Central Bank Of Nigeria Governor is the most prepared for the job.
Barrister Akpudo added that having worked with Governor Willie Obiano who was passionate about transforming the state, they decided to support every programme and policy of the state government for continuous development.
The National Woman Leader Of ASATU, Lady Franca Nwigbo maintained that the legacy projects put in place in the state speak for themselves , stating that the Governor’s Wife also prioritized the interest of the Women for the past four years.
On his part, the Leader of the Youth Wing, Comrade Patrick Aghamba disclosed that Governor Obiano led administration made a serious impact in  all the communities by engaging the youths in his administration .
Responding,  the Deputy Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while thanking the association for the gesture, asked the ASATU family to go back to their various communities and embark on grassroots mobilization for the election and also asked them to show appreciation to the Obiano administration for remembering communities by voting for APGA.
In their seperate speeches, the Special Adviser to the Governor On Chieftaincy and Town Union Matters, Barrister Vera-Queen Okonkwo and her Local Government Counterparts, Chief Alex Onukwue said ASATU have made the best choice which she noted means that Ndi hve spoken and charged them to go back to their communities and mobilize as the election will take place as scheduled.
The President General of Umuoji Town Union,  Chief Sly Onyima moved the motion for the endorsement,  seconded by Mrs Ijeoma Esione of the women wing assisted by Emeka Okoyeozor of the youth wing.
The Campaign Director of APGA, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu and other members of the team were present during the endorsement.
