Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced the distribution of permanent voter card ahead of Saturday’s Governorship election in Anambra State.

Staff reporter Ogochukwu Oranu who monitored the exercise in some local government areas including Onitsha North and South,  Idemili  North and South Local Government Areas, reports that a large number of people   were seen at each Local Government Area waiting for their turn to collect their Permanent Voter Card while INEC staff were also busy sorting and giving out the Permanent Voter  Card to the owners.

Speaking to the ABS at Onitsha South, Mr. Samuel Olayinka in charge of INEC in the  Area said people came out in large number to collect their Permanent Voter Card because they have been waiting anxiously for the exercise to begin saying that they only have to come with the temporary card given to them to get the permanent one.

Mr. Olayinka added that the distribution will last till Friday.

Mr. Chukwunonso Egboga who came to collect his Permanent Voter Card complained of the delay as a result of the crowd suggesting the inclusion of Corps members to facilitate the exercise.
