Chief Willie Obiano has been described as the best worker friendly Governor Anambra State has ever had and called on his would be successor to emulate him.
Anambra State workers stated this during the 2021 public service day held at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat complex in Awka.
Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that whiles speaking at the event the Education Secretary Awka North Local Government Education Authority, Mrs Benedin Anagor, secondary school teachers, Messrs Daniel Olisa, and Chike Alubalueze while describing the relationship between the Obiano administration and workers in the state since inception as cordial commended the governor for always prioritizing the welfare of the workers which they said is evident in the regular payment of the workers salaries, payment of gratuity to the retirees, Christmas largesse for the workers, among others.
They called on the incoming governor of the State to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Willie on workers welfare by ensuring that the workers are promoted as at when due, salaries improved, and low-income houses built for civil servants.
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Dr Nwando Obiano noted that since assumption of office by Governor Willie Obiano, Anambra state has continued to enjoy industrial harmony, promising that workers in the state will reciprocate the gesture by voting for APGA in this Saturday’s election.

The event which attracted workers from various Ministries and parastatals, had in attendance the state Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr Uju Nwogu, Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr Uche Nworah, among others.
