Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has enjoined the twenty thousand  personnel deployed for election duties in the state to exhibit high level of civility during tomorrow’s governorship election in the state.

 

The deployed personnel are from the NSCDC Arms Squad Unit, Counter-Terrorism Unit and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives Unit.

According to the Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Audi who spoke in Awka, he is in the state to encourage  the personnel and assess the level of preparedness in terms of Train-the-Trainers Capacity Building and Electoral Workshop, ahead of the poll.

 

He said that the special forces have been drafted to key areas in the state where they would be saddled with the responsibility of protecting life and property of the state citizenry.

 

He assured the state residents of good conduct of the personnel, asking the staff to ensure they play by the rule of law, behavioral consciousness, avoid intimidation and harassment, calling on the electorate to exercise patience and be respectful in their manner of approach at the polling unit.

Dr. Audi assured the personnel of boosting their welfare as the command has outlined areas of improvement of its staff among other things.
