Chairmen and Secretaries of All Progressives Congress, APC, in twelve local government areas who opposed the method of nomination of the candidate of the party in the Anambra governorship election Senator Andy Uba, have distanced themselves from the call by the state Chairman of the party Mr Basil Ejidike for cancellation of the governorship election.

Speaking to journalists in Awka, the leader of the APC group, Mr Kennedy Nebe who is also the Secretary of the party in Orumba North, said Mr Ejidike’s statement does not represent the stand of members of the party.

He noted that the election was free, fair and credible and stressed that the group would never support any move to subvert the will of the people.

He pointed out that the people have made a clear statement through the results announced so far by INEC, adding that no individual or political party’s interest and aspirations should compromise the collective interest of the people and future of the state, noting that outcome of the election has reflected the wishes and mandate of Ndi Anambra to sustain socio- economic development of the state.

Mr Nebe commended the people of the state for coming out enmass to exercise their franchise and urged people of Ihiala to also come out in their numbers tomorrow and vote.

While commanding INEC for living up to expectations, he enjoined the Commission to correct lapses noticed during the exercise for better future outing.
