As against the reported delays experienced with the newBimodal Voter Accreditation System, introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Anambra State, reports say the case was different at Ihiala as voters had a seamless and smooth accreditation in the supplementary election that took place yesterday.

ABS Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that, however, there was an initial delay at the dispatch of electoral materials and personnel that made the polls to open a few minutes past noon contrary to the ten o’clock in the morning schedule by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission had suspended collation of results in the Anambra gubernatorial election on Sunday for their inability to conduct election in Ihiala Local Government Area citing insecurity as the main reason and thereby fixed yesterday as the day to hold a supplementary election in the Local Government Area.

On arrival at the local government headquarters, ABS observed a delay in the dispatch of election materials and personnel as sorting of materials lasted while polls opened at around twenty minutes past noon.

There was no reported issues of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, malfunctioning in Mbosi and  security men were on ground in different parts of the area and the polling booths to maintain peace and order.
