Prominent Igbo businessmen and industry leaders under the platform Umunna Lekki Association have hailed the election of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra state.

In a statement signed and made available to the press today by the group’s interim president, Ikem Ume-Ezeoke, it called on Igbo sons and daughters across the world to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in the southeast to create a new trend of industrialization and improve both the creative and manufacturing sectors to provide jobs and wealth for the vast majority of young people.

The group urged all interest groups and stakeholders in the region to join hands under the Umunna philosophy in advancing the economic, social and cultural as well as political well-being of Ndigbo everywhere in the world.
The group further stated that the age-long philosophy of “Aku Luo Uno” should be reenacted to help Ndigbo focus more on the industrialization of the region while also making meaningful contributions everywhere they find themselves.

The statement also called on Ndigbo around the world to see the opportunity of emerging potentials for economic growth in the region and to look back to make quality investments in the region, while also urging all Igbo sons and daughters to show serious interest in the next election in 2023 as it is the rightful turn of Ndigbo to produce the next Nigerian president.

The statement called on Prof Soludo to keep to all his promises during the campaign period to justify the trust placed on him by the people of Anambra and also ensure that the people will continue to have faith in their government and the political process.
