It was celebration galore as the Amawbia country home of the Principal Secretary to Anambra State Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye hosted many, as he celebrate the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the last Anambra gubernatorial election, with Ndi Amawbia, in a grand style.
The Umueze village home of Sir Willie in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, witnessed presence of Ndi Amawbia, men, women, youths and children in their numbers who assembled to rejoice and appreciate God for making the just concluded election a success, and in favour of APGA.
Speaking to the ABS, Sir Willie who thanked God for giving the All Progressives Grand Alliance victory in the poll, said that the APGA’s triumph is a right choice by Ndi Anambra, and expressed hope that the Anambra state Governor-elect will make people of the state proud when he assumes office.
The Anambra state Principal Secretary, maintained that Professor Soludo is prepared to take the state to a greater height, calling on other states in Nigeria to emulate Anambra state in the selection of their leaders, as according to him, gone are the days when incompetent people wangle their ways into public offices.
The state Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh, and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Creative Media, Movie and Entertainment Industry, Mr Bob-Manuel Udokwu in separate interviews expressed confidence that Professor Soludo’s administration will consolidate on the achievements of the present Obiano government, pointing out that Professor Soludo has the pedigree to move Anambra forward.
On his part, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah Ph. D, wished Governor Willie Obiano and the Governor-elect, Professor Soludo well, and called on Ndi Anambra to embrace peace and brotherly love, as the election and all its challenges are already over.
In his speech, the Umueze APGA Ward One Chairman, Mr Chidiume Onuorah observed that APGA’s victory at the poll was possible following the ability of the
party to distinguish itself through equitable distribution of democracy dividends in the state over the years, and commended the Principal Secretary for immensely supporting Amawbia APGA, which according to him aided the party’s triumph in the Umueze ward one.
Among government functionaries that graced the occasion were Anambra state Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr James Eze, and his deputy, Mr Emeka Ozumba.
The event featured several local musical performances, masquerade displays, among others.
