The remains of the late Sir Christopher Udenze have been laid to rest in his home town, Abube-Agu, Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area.
The funeral commenced with a requiem mass at Saint Jude Catholic Church, Nando where family members, friends, in-laws and sympathizers gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased.
The late Sir Christopher Udenze, who died at the age of ninety-seven was a retired civil servant, devout Christian, who lived a peaceful life putting smile on many faces.
In a homily, Reverend Father John Okafor described the deceased as a kind hearted, asking God to accept his soul and grant him eternal rest.
Reverend Father Okafor maintained that living an upright life that will ensure one’s place in heaven is paramount.
Speaking to the ABS, a Grand Knight of Saint Mulumba Sub-council Enugu, Professor Franick Ocho said that the deceased was a father to all, urging the family to follow his footsteps.
A friend of the family, Professor Chimdi Okosa, sympathized with the family, saying that the deceased positively touched many lives, and has left a good legacy.
While thanking family and friends for their prayers, support, children of the deceased, Chief Mbanugo Udenze and Dr Ngozi Ofoegbunam, expressed profound gratitude to God, appreciating everyone for their presence and kind gesture.
Correspondent, Amarachukwu Okafor reports that the funeral was attended by the Bishop emeritus of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Hillary Okeke, family of the deceased, friends, Knights and Ladies of Saint Mulumba and many others from all walks of life who came to pay their last respects to the late nonagenarian.
