The chairman, Anambra House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Honourable Obinna Emeneka has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs to prepare for the defense of 2022 Appropriation Bill, which he said, will commence on Tuesday next week.
Honourable Emeneka made the call while supporting a motion for adjournment, during plenary.
Honourable Emeneka, who explained that the defense will hold in the Anambra State House of Assembly Complex, noted that it is a constitutional duty of the house to do that before the passage of the 2022 Appropriation Bill.
The lawmaker urged MDAs to attend the defense with all the documents that will enable them to do a thorough job.
On his part, the speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor noted that the house takes the exercise seriously and urged committee members to discharge their duties efficiently to achieve the purpose of the defense.
At plenary, the member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Honourable Onyebuchi Offor, who defected to the All-Progressives Congress, APC, from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP two weeks ago, returned to the PDP.
In his reaction, the Deputy Majority Leader, Honourable Emeka Aforka appealed to lawmakers, who defected to APC from the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to return to the party and join hands with the Anambra State Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to reposition the state.
