About 168 aged persons have benefited from the Ezinne Josephine Elderly Care and Support Foundation end of the year outreach in Adabebe village, Amawbia.
The outreach which took place at the EJECS dominion compound was graced by the founder Dr  Mrs Chinedu Okoye, the foundation coordinators at the various villages, the elderly and some of their care givers.
The foundation which was incorporated in 2016 as an NGO, attends to the elderly from 80 years and above with the aim of  showing them   love,  care and companionship in their waning years.
Although the foundation is strictly for the aged, it has also established youth empowerment program for five beneficiaries so far.
 Dr Mrs Okoye while addressing the elderly, called on the State and Federal government to establish a viable and functional empowerment scheme for  the aged and senior citizens to help reduce some of their emotional, financial and social burdens.
She also urged everyone  to assist by given companionship,  food and emotional support to elderly people around then.
The EJECS general coordinator Mr  Samuel Ojeleke and a sister to the founder Evangelist. Favour Ezenwa said the outreach was geared towards encouraging groups and individuals  to reach out to the elderly in their areas of influence.
Some of the beneficiaries including, Mr Chukwuebuka Nwodo who is a beneficiary of EJECS education assistance that covers tuition, boarding and books at  Federal Polytechnic Oko and Mrs Maria Nnayelugo, appreciated Dr Okoye for her benevolence praying God to continue to protect and bless her.
Items shared were, 5kg bags of rice, Canned tomatoes, Canned Meat and Fish, Spices, Onions and  cash while Mrs Elizabeth Uduji was also given 2 grinding machines to kick start her grinding business.
