The Traditional Ruler of Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area Igwe Ben Emeka has asked all the candidates of the different political parties in the just concluded Anambra State governorship election to support the Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in order to move the State forward.

 

Describing the outcome of the election as the reflection of the wish of Ndị Anambra, Igwe Emeka said that any form of contesting the result in the Court will be counterproductive, noting that for the State to move forward all hands must be on deck to support Professor Soludo who holds the mandate of the people and will start exercising it from March seventeenth, 2022 when he will take over the reins of power from incumbent Governor Willie Obiano.

Igwe Emeka commended gubernatorial candidates who have congratulated the Governor-elect, saying that it is the Anambra spirit and spirit of sportsmanship needed to move the state forward.

On his expectations from the incoming government, Igwe Emeka said Governor Obiano has built the needed infrastructure such as the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, the International Convention Centre, Awka which are needed to boost the economy of the State, therefore the need for them to workout practical solutions to tap the potential of the projects.

He asked Professor Soludo to remain committed in fulfilling his campaign promises to Ndi Anambra especially his promise to declare State of emergency on Anambra Roads saying that it is needed to put Anambra State on higher pedestal with other committee of States.

Igwe Emeka further asked the Governor-Elect to upon assumption of duty pay serious attention to boosting internally generated revenue of the State especially in plugging all revenue loopholes in the State and finding an end  to the menace of illegal tax collectors in the State.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria legion Anambra State council Chief Ben Eze Agbogu says the emergence of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the governor-elect of Anambra State, will bring more development to Anambra State.

Chief Eze Agbogu who is also the Chairman Ayamelum Local Government Area Boundary Adjustment and Peace Committee as well as a former President of                                       Anambra State Association Town Unions called on Ndi Anambra to take full ownership of the State for its enhanced development by supporting the government.
