The Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Engineer Nnamdi Nwadiogbu, has hosted members of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, from Ward One Ogbunike, to celebrate the victory of the party in the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The event, held at the country home of Engineer Nwadiogbu in Ifite Village, Ogbunike, witnessed a large turnout of APGA members from the area who came together to appreciate God for making the election a huge success.

Addressing his ward members, Engineer Nwadiogbu said that APGA’s triumph means that it remains the right political choice of Ndi Anambra, and expressed hope that the governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, will make people of the state proud.

The Transition Committee Chairman also noted that Professor Soludo is fully prepared to take Anambra State to a greater height, calling on other states in Nigeria to emulate Anambra State in the election of their leaders as, according to him, gone are the days when incompetent hands find their ways into public offices.

On his part, the Traditional Ruler of Awkuzu, Professor Charles Anikweze, who came to rejoice with Ndi Ogbunike, expressed confidence that Professor Soludo’s administration will consolidate the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano’s leadership, pointing out that Professor Soludo possesses the pedigree to move Anambra State forward.

In their separate remarks, the President General of Ogbunike Town Union, Comrade Chukwugozie Ikegulu, APGA Ward One Chairman in Ogbunike, Mr Samuel Nzeakor and the Woman Leader, Mrs Rita Nweke, observed that APGA’s victory at the poll was possible because the party distinguished itself through equitable distribution of democracy dividends in the state over the years, and commended Engineer Nwadiogbu for always supporting the party in both Ogbunike and Oyi.

Some stakeholders from Ogbunike who were also present at the event, including the Chairman of Anambra State Market Traders Association, ASMATA, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, Architect Franklin Okonkwo, Mr Uche Chirah and Mr Charles Elobisi, wished Governor Willie Obiano and the governor-elect, Professor Soludo well and called on the entire Anambra people to embrace peace and brotherly love, as the election and all its heat are already over.

The host, Engineer Nwadiogbu later presented gifts as a show of appreciation to the ward one party members.
