No doubt, administrations come and go but the feats achieved by any administration are not easily forgotten as such achievements become letters written on the slate of time, which cannot be erased or obliterated. This has prompted the Anambra Achievers Legacy (Akululu Uno Amaka 2021) to endear itself to the feats achieved by the Obiano-led administration.

Anambra Achievers’ Legacy Award is organized as part of the activities to mark the New Anambra State at 30; celebrating 30 exceptional, indigenous achievers who have invested heavily in the state by building roads, awarding scholarships, rural electrification, building of factories, which provided jobs to our youths and increased the economic profile of the state.

Anambra was created in 1976 from the defunct East Central State, and its capital was Enugu. On August 27, 1991, it was further divided into two, the New Anambra and Enugu States. The capital of the New Anambra is Awka. This year, 2021, the state clocks thirty and it calls for celebration and introspection.

Anambra Achievers Legacy Award is a quadrennial event and private sector initiative that seeks to immortalize the indelible achievements of distinguished sons and daughters of Anambra State, the first eleven” in their various fields of endeavor.

They are individuals who have greatly impacted on the lives of the people through their programmes and projects with evidence on ground to show for it; individuals and professionals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and sacrificed their resources for the general development of Anambra State in particular and humanity in general.

Anambra Achievers’ Legacy, also called ANALEG Award, is a home- driven investment organization, in collaboration with Nigeria-Overseas Communications, empowered in line with the Igbo Think Home Philosophy to promote good societal values and right ideals that characterize the Igbo race.

Anambra Achievers Legacy was conceptualized to honour Ndi Anambra of proven integrity, hard work, dedication, industry, high spirited individuals and corporate organizations who have set up business empires in the state. After due consultations, deliberations and considerations with regard to the achievements of the Obiano-led administration, Anambra Achievers Legacy Award (Akululu Uno Amaka) is poised at immortalizing the developmental strides of Governor Willie Obiano’s landmark and symbolic achievements.

It is symbolic that the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport was commissioned on the seventh year and seventh months of his Administration. He further produced a credible successor, Prof C.C Soludo who is endearing to the heart, soul, mind and spirit of Ndi-Anambra.

The occasion holds on December 27, 2021 in Awka. It is expected to be chaired Senator Ike Ekweremmadu, former Deputy Senate President. The Anambra State Governor-elect and the Governors of Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Rivers and Delta States are to be Special Guests of Honour, while members of House of Representatives, Speaker and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, and their predecessors in office would be Guests of Honour. Other top government functionaries, business moguls, captains of industry, traditional rulers, religious leaders, Presidents-General of Town Unions among others, would feature prominently.

Finally, Anambra Achievers Legacy cannot forget our past heroes to honour them for their contributions to the development of Anambra State in particular, and Igbos in general.

Always join ANAMBRA ACHIEVERS’ LEGACY (AKULULU UNO AMAKA 2021) to celebrate “eminent Ndi Anambra”, who are exceptionally reliable, dependable and have distinguished themselves in their chosen disciplines and fields of endeavor; the critical thinkers on nation building! The pride of the state and the Igbo nation!! Ndi Anambra “1st Eleven”!
