Life is worth celebrating when one attained the ripe age before exist to the world beyond.

This was what happened at the Chinemeze Palace, Nteje in Oyi Local Government Area as the family of Late Chief Peter Odegbo committed the body of Late Iyom Avulenu Odegbo to mother earth.

Late Iyom Avuluenu Odegbo till her death was the step mother of Igwe Rowland Odegbo of Nteje, aged, ninety-three, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a devout Christian which earned her different positions in Nteje Anglican Community.

While delivering a sermon during the funeral service, Reverend Emmanuel Okearoh of Emmanuel Anglican Church,Nteje, said that death is another phase of journey everyone will face which requires living a righteous life so as to make heaven because it will be unfortunate if after all the struggles in life, one finds himself wanting at the last day.

Reverend Okearoh disclosed that the deceased was an exemplary woman who in all her life endeavour, made Christ her pillar, noting that she ran her heavenly race and had passion for the service of God, praying for the repose of her soul.

One of the step sons of Iyom Avuluenu Odegbo, Honourable Odegbo-Odegbo, recalled how they passed her tutelage, saying as the first wife of their father, that the deceased nurtured, loved and accommodated all in ensuring they live in peace.

Another of her stepsons, Chief Ugochukwu Odegbo, thanked God for the life lived by their mother, by promoting, oneness and never segregated and above all, rooted them in Christ.

The daughter of the deceased, Mrs Nwakaego Iwobi, noted that her mother has left a vacuum that no one can fill, pointing out that she was humble, caring, loving and above all, accommodating and shared all she had for the good of others assuring that her legacies will be upheld.

Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that families, friends and relations also took turn to pay their last respect in different ways to Odegbo family.
