All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, faithful in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra and beyond have joined others in celebrating the victory of Professor Chukwuma Soludo at the just-concluded Anambra governorship election.

 

Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that the event was hosted by the State Organising Secretary of the party, Honourable Tony Nwakile.

Umunya community contributed immensely in the over six thousand votes which gave APGA resounding victory in the council area despite being adjudged stronghold of other political parties before the election.

President General of Umunya Development Union, Chief Innocent Nwabueze, former Ward One Chairman of the Party in the community, Mr. Chibuzo Olie and the incumbent, Mr. Chike Oraeki, who commended Umunya people for their collective decision on the right candidate, Professor Soludo, and for being consistent in voting APGA, expressed hope that the incoming administration will complete  on -going and commence more infrastructural projects in the community, describing the host, Honourable Nwakile as strong pillar of the party in the area.

 

Deputy National Woman Leader of Women Initiative for Greater Anambra, WIGA, Mrs. Benedicta Nwakile, whose members were also present at the event, commended women for playing significant role in the emergence of Professor Soludo, expressing firm belief that his administration will address challenges facing women, youths and children as are being done by the incumbent Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and wife, Dr. Ebelechukwu.

The host, Honourable Nwakile, who commended APGA faithful in Umunya and the State in general for their overwhelming supports, and Anambra electorate for their consensus on APGA, said Professor Soludo will consolidate on the achievements of the Obiano administration for the sustainable development of the State.

He commended ABS for using it’s various platforms to make political campaign easy during the electioneering, and disseminating results announced by INEC on the election, steps he said contributed to the victory of APGA and success of the exercise.
