Anambra State Diaspora community has been urged to be actively involved in the drive to attract more investors to Anambra State.

Speaking in Awka the National Chairman of Anambra for Soludo, Chief Jude Emecheta said Ndi Anambra and other stakeholders should support government efforts to project the State before the international community.

Our man Paul Ezeoke reports that according to Chief Emecheta members of the Diaspora community should not only extend their investments and businesses to the State but should equally encourage their business partners, associates and friends from various parts of the world to come to Anambra and explore the huge opportunities emerging from various sectors of the State economy.

He noted that the Obiano administration has put in place key infrastructure and conducive business environment for investments and international businesses to flourish while the blueprint of the Governor-elect Professor Chukwuma Soludo specified clear vision of private sector driven economy that will meet the demands of the Twenty-first century and enable the State keep pace with the rest of world in development indices.

Chief Emecheta urged investors to explore opportunities in the state tourism sector which he noted has huge revenue generating potential that has remained untapped, adding that effective harnessing of the resources in tourism would transform the sector to become one of major foreign exchange earners for the State, pointing out that places like Dubai, Paris and Venice are reaping huge benefits from tourism.

He observed that various lakes, waterfalls, caves and museums in different parts of the state hold untapped wealth that will reward investments and stressed the needed for residents of the State to promote local tourism to attract international tourism.

Also speaking, a small-scale entrepreneur, Chief Isaac Maduakor noted that the state service industry is recording accelerated growth with world class hotels and event centres springing up in various parts of the State.
