The All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA stakeholders in Idemili South Local Government Area, have organized a special party to commemorate the  victory of the party at the just concluded Anambra State Governorship Election.

Despite being home to  the deputy governorship candidates  of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and that of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, Idemili South is one of the nineteen local government areas that gave APGA victory on the November six poll.

addressing the gathering, the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who appreciated the people of Idemili South on behalf of the Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said, their government will be anchored on transparency and integrity.

He called for the support of Ndi Anambra through innovative idea that will help to transform the state for the better and commended the entire people of Idemili South especially the APGA campaign council, led by the state Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, commended the people of Idemili South, most especially Professor Omenugha for delivering APGA in Idemili South despite the challenges.

He noted that APGA has been rebranded for greater glory and expressed belief that subsequent elections will be smoother.

In their different speeches, Professor Omenugha and the APGA chairman for Idemili South Local Government Area, Mr. Joseph Ezeanya, explained that the victory was possible due to their vision of creating, committed, loving and happy party faithful through equity, fairness, reward, love and hard work.

In their separate remarks, the Transition Committee chairman of Idemili South, Mr. Don Unachukwu, the convener of Women Initiative for Greater Anambra, WIGA, Mrs. Amaka Obi and a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Dr Vero Okechukwu maintained that the victory is worth celebrating and expressed confidence that Professor Soludo will deliver the dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra.

The convener of Youths Earnestly Support Soludo, Dr Nelson Omenugha, who described the party faithful as the true hero of APGA, commended the youths for being very instrumental to the victory.

The state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, an APGA Chieftain in Idemili South, Mr. Chijioke Agbanyim, the Orumba North Transition Committee Chairman, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, APGA executives both at the local government and ward levels graced the occasion.

The event, which took place at Ichie Obama’s Villa Nnobi, witnessed special performances and cutting of a special victory cake, designed in APGA colours and symbol.
