Alkebulan Productions, one of Nigeria’s leading movie production houses has partnered with the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, to erect an epic film village.
The film village is being set up at the corporate headquarters of ABS, Awka, and will add to the content base for all ABS multimedia channels.
Inspecting ongoing work at the site of the project, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Dr Uche Nworah said that the film village is another way to meet up with Governor Willie Obiano’s philosophy of creative funding, adding that the project will complement the activities of the ABS Film Academy and help students through practicals and research.
Emphasizing that ABS is always on the look out for smarter ways to create sound contents for its audience on different digital platforms, Dr Nworah said that the output from the film village would also be played on ABS radio and television channels for audience’s entertainment.
He noted that though the organization is situated on a large expanse of land to provide for the suspension of outstretched cables supporting the broadcast mast, modest provision are made for subsistence agriculture, in line with Governor Obiano’s ‘Aku Luo Uno’ campaign, and other ventures that add value to the organizational vision of ABS.
On her part the founder of Alkebulan Productions, Mrs Chinyere Okonma said that the aim of the project is to bring film production down to ABS as a focal area, and to also get youths engaged positively, adding that the film village will wear a unique look on completion.
