The next phase of free prosthetics limbs and legs for physically challenged persons by CAFE, is expected to commence in Awka this week for about two hundred and fifty-six persons, whose sizes were measured three months ago.

Since it began in 2015, the CAFE Free Prosthetics Programme has given free prosthetic limbs to over two thousand five hundred beneficiaries.

One of the beneficiaries fromEnugu State, Mr. Shedrack Odoh, whose joy new no bounds led family and friends to Saint Theresa’s Catholic Parish, Amalla Community in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State for a thanksgiving Mass.

The twenty-four-year-old Mr. Odoh, who lost his right hand and leg as a result of a ghastly accident in October 2020, was assisted by Anambra State First Lady’s NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, following a spirited appeal in a video message, soliciting help to enable him procure prosthetics after the misfortune.

Mr. Odoh was fitted with a free prosthetic arm and leg in February 2021 after counseling, measurement and sizing in December 2020.

Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano had made contact on the phone and after inquiries, ferried the young man in an ambulance to Awka, on ninth December 2020 where he was counselled and measured to ensure that the prosthetics arm and leg are made to his size and specifications.
