The Member Representing Orumba South Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Emma Nwafor has stated that all lawmakers in the House are still working for the greater Anambra concern despite their individual political affiliations.
Honourable Nwafor who disclosed this in a chat with the ABS on the legislature-executive relationship in the State said that though political attachments count, the lawmakers are more focused on issues of greater good for Anambra State and are not distracted by party affiliations and individual ambitions.
He said that the legislature-executive relationship has been robust and mutually efficient, with each arm working studiously to ensure that Ndi Anambra get the value for their political investment.
Commenting on the 2022 budget which was passed by the State legislature less than two weeks ago, Honourable Nwafor said that the budget, when implemented, would expedite development across all sectors and enforce necessary allocation to the completion of ongoing projects.
The lawmaker who stated that with activities already begun at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri and works almost completed at the Anambra International Convention Centre, socio-economic gains would scale up and unemployment gap maximally cut down.
Assessing Governor Willie Obiano’s time in office, Honourable Nwafor said that the present administration cuts a distinct edge in security, human capital and infrastructural developments, pointing to prompt and unbreeched payment of workers salaries, and the various legacy projects embarked on by the Obiano government as some true testaments of quality leadership.
He also expressed confidence that the Anambra State Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo would bring his excellent antecedents to bear on both economic and developmental initiatives of the State, insisting that the choice of Professor Soludo was the best parting gift that Governor Obiano could give to Ndi Anambra.
