Governor Willie Obiano has condoled with the people of Ihiala over the recent deaths of some of its prominent leaders.

In a message to the chairman of the Ihiala Local Government Transition Committee, Engineer Jeff Obi, the President General of the Ihiala Progress Union, IPU, Chief Okey Chukwu and the traditional ruler of Ihiala, Igwe Thomas Obidiegwu, Governor Obiano regretted the deaths of Barrister Jude Igwe, Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, and Engineer Emmanuel Chukwuneta, a successful entrepreneur in Lagos and his schoolmate at Christ the King College, Onitsha.

A release signed by the commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. DONAdinuba said that Governor Obiano described Barrister Igwe’s death as more painful considering that he hailed from the same village as Engineer Chukwuneta, whom he called a good friend rather than just a CKC Old Boy.

According to the release, Barrister Igwe served successfully as President General of the Ihiala Progress Union at almost a callow age and at a difficult time in IPU’s history while Engineer Chukwuneta was a versatile engineer, who bestrode both civil and electrical engineering like a colossus.

The release further stated that Engineer Chukwuneta was a truly spiritual person, who served both God and humanity with all his heart.
