The Awka City Trade Fair 2021 has been kicked off.
The Trade Fair which is being organized by the Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, AWKACCIMA and the Anambra Broadcasting Service has its theme as “Creating awareness on Local Productivity’’ and attracted manufacturers, farmers, schools and other companies.
Declaring the Trade Fair opened, the Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr Uchenna Okafor represented by the Director of Commerce in the Ministry, Lady Henrietta Basil-Ideh said trade fairs are important to boosting the economy of the State and promised that the state government will continue to make policies that will support trade and local manufacturers in the State.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Trade Fair holding at the premises of ABS Corporate Headquarters, near Arroma, Awka, the President of Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, AWKACCIMA, Princess Caroline Ajuora said the trade fair though planned under a very short notice was birthed as an initiative to continue to boost trade in the State Capital, especially to provide a platform where consumers and manufacturers can meet during the yuletide.
For the partner of the Trade Fair, Anambra Broadcasting Service, her Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Uche Nworah represented by Mr Abuchi Nwozor, the establishment will continue to support programmes that will have direct positive impacts and will better the lives of the people while attracting direct investors into the state.
The Chairman on the Occasion and Chairman, Winco Foams Industries Nigeria Limited, Dr Godwin Okafor represented by the Administration Manager, Mr Samuel Ogechukwu also assured of his support and said that the Trade Fair is very important to the life of businesses.
Also at the ceremony were the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Charles Esimone represented by the deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof Joseph Ikechebelu, representatives of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council
Highpoints of the opening ceremony was the inspection of products and stands of the participating companies.
