The Anambra State Government has donated teaching and learning materials to the three schools it acquired recently.

 

Presenting the items to the benefitting schools, the State Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha reiterated the commitment of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to ensuring that the State remains one of the three top States in Nigeria with the lowest illiteracy rate.

 

Commissioner Omenugha charged the benefiting schools, which include Community High School Ugbenu, Eziagu Community Secondary School and Okpu Community Primary School Owerre Ezukala to effectively utilize the items for the educational benefit of the children.

 

Reacting on behalf of the schools, the Owerre Ezukala Town Union’s Committee Chairman on Basic Education, Reverend Father Theodore Ekwem, who represented the President General, Barrister Anayo Emejuo thanked Governor Obiano for the largesse aimed at improving education in their communities.

 

Father Ekwem lauded the exceptional qualities of the Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Omenugha, whose ingenuity he said has repositioned education in Anambra State to meet global competitiveness.
