Christmas is a time for expression of love, and there is no way love can be properly expressed without the act of giving.

 

The Otu Odu Eze Royal Society of Enugwu-Ukwu Community, Njikoka Local Government Area, in the spirit of Christmas, has therefore distributed bags of rice and cash gifts to indigent widows of the community.

 

Otu Odu Eze Royal Society comprised of wives of cabinet Chiefs of Enugwu-Ukwu community, chaired by the wife of the Traditional ruler, Lolo Dora Ekpe.

 

The event commenced with praise, worship and series of prayers for peace, progress and unity of Enugwu-Ukwu community.

 

Speaking at the event, Lolo Ekpe said the philanthropic gesture is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the most indigent widows, who were selected from the eighteen villages that make up the community.

 

Lolo Ekpe used the opportunity to call on governments and wealthy individuals to create more employment opportunities to address youth restiveness.

Also speaking, one of the members of the Royal Society, Chief Mrs. Edith Aniekwena enjoined parents not to be scared of telling their children the truth at all times, and advised youths to work hard to make it in life, instead of getting involved in vices, which she noted will be hindrances to their becoming people of repute in life.

 

For the beneficiaries of the Christmas largesse, who include Mrs. Josephine Anieriobi, Mrs. Beatrice Onyebuchi, Mrs. Beatrice Onyekwelu and Ezinne Anthonia Ilonwa, the gifts they received will enable them enjoy the Christmas season with other people.

 

They prayed God to replenish the givers abundantly.
