As the world commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, Christians across denominations in their numbers trooped out in thanksgiving for the precious gift of a son.

They gorgeously dressed in different beautiful clothes, depicting the mood of the season.

Worship songs, praises and Christmas Carols also rented the air as the season calls for joy, happiness and gratitude to God.

The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of The Niger, Most Reverend Alexzander Ibezim in a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka, described the sovereignty of Jesus Christ as second to none.

Most Reverend Ibezim frowned at some people, who celebrate Christmas wrongly reminding them that Christ brought salvation and therefore, they should embrace righteous life.

A Priest in residence, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Awka, Reverend Father Cyprian Ezeakunne, defined the gift of Christ as the best thing God did to salvage mankind because Christ brough hope, paid a huge prize at the cross of Calvary and reconciled them with God.

Reverend Ezeakunne noted that Christ made everything new and should be allowed to come into their hearts for positive life, peace and accomplishment of their heart desires.

The Archdeacon, On the Lake Archdeaconry, Agulu and Vicar, Saint Stephen’s Church, Agulu, Venerable Silas Ike stated that Christmas season is a moment of reconciliation and peace as well as extension of gifts, talents, charity and hope.

Venerable Ike, who called for fervent prayers and dedication to the things of God to curb the incessant killings, shedding of blood and hardships in today’s society, prayed God’s  grace.

Special prayers were offered for the country, state and peaceful celebrations.
