The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has cautioned Christians against complaining without proper understanding of situations.
In a sermon at the cathedral church of Saint John Ekwulobia during a Christmas service, Bishop Ezeofor advised Christians to always ascertain the true position of things before making any complaint to avoid misleading the public.
He regretted the high increase in food stuff and other materials in the country especially during festive season and called on the government to map out measures that will improve the living standards of the people.
Bishop Ezeofor, who described Christmas as a period of Joy and thanksgiving, called on Christmas to always remember the less privileged individuals in the society.
He said that it is with compassion that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to the world for the salvation and transformation of Mankind.
Bishop Ezeofor, who maintained that various gifts has great impact on mankind, charged Christians to always use their individual gifts in working out their salvation.
He advised Christians to avoid acts capable of contradicting their faith in God, reminding them of the need to always live lives capable of winning souls for Christ.
Bishop Ezeofor charged Christians to abstain from sin order to witness the presence of God, who is the giver of Jesus Christ.
In a remark, the Archdeacon in the Cathedral Church of Saint John Ekwulobia Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo who cautioned Christians against acts capable of making Christmas lose its concept and meaning condemned masquerading during Christmas period.
Venerable Nwankwo reminded the faithful of the need to use the period of Christmas in re-examining their lives in addition to seeing it as a period of building bridges of trust and good neighborliness.
The service which was conducted by Reverend Canon Samuel Onochie featured an anthem by the Cathedral choir, prayers for those in leadership positions and special thanksgiving.
The President of the Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, some Diocesan officials, Knights and ladies of the Church among others attended the service.
