The Bishop of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe has called on Christians to allow Jesus Christ to be born in their life as they celebrate his birth.

Bishop Ekwe who made the call while delivering his Christmas message at the Cathedral Church of Saint Gabriel Umueri, said that the birth of Jesus Christ calls for joy and celebration and regretted that many people celebrate the birth of Christ without knowing Him.

The Bishop who said that humanity has no hope until the birth of Jesus Christ noted that Christmas season is a time to celebrate joy, love of God and enjoy the gift which only God gives, not a time for extortion, drunkenness, masquerading and other social vices in the name of Christmas.

Bishop Ekwe who said that Christmas is associated with good news urged Christians to earnestly use the period to grow in grace, sincerity, truth, honesty and genuine fellowship with one another.

Bishop Ekwe who stated that Christ is the greatest gift God gave to humanity advised Christians to share gift with one another, especially the needy and the downtrodden in the society.
