Traffic control measures initiated by the Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area to ease traffic during festive periods is ongoing and will be sustained throughout the yuletide.

Road users who spoke to the ABS on the exercise, including Chief Nnanwilo Okafor, Messrs. Uzochukwu Nwite and Kenechukwu Nwanna commended the exercise, and urged other road users to give the Road Marshalls maximum cooperation in order to achieve the set objective.

It would be recalled that considering that human and vehicular movements are usually on the increase during the yuletide, the Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union, trained over thirty youths as Road Marshalls to help ensure free flow of traffic.

The Leader of the Road Marshalls, Mr. Anthony Ogbonna said the group, whose operations commenced on the twenty-third December, are working in synergy with existing traffic management authorities and security agencies in discharging their duties at Ring-road, Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu and Ezi-Elias axis in the community, calling on road users to give them maximum support.

The President-General of Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union, Chief Bonny Ozo Nkwuaku, noted that the traffic control exercise has been ongoing for years.
