As part of their corporate responsibilities, Long Life Educational Foundation and Alpha Micro Finance Bank Limited Abuja organized the inaugural edition of Amaokpala Education Competition.
The event, held at the Amaokpla Civic Center in Orumba North Local Government Area, drew twelve participants ranging in educational level from West African Examination Council holders to university undergraduates.
The grand prize for the quiz competition, which covers English language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, is three hundred thousand naira, the first runner up receives two hundred thousand naira, and the second runner up receives one hundred thousand naira.
Mr Patrick Ikwueto, the foundation’s major sponsor, stated in his opening remarks that the competition, which is one of the foundation’s pet projects, is a means of motivating young people who are thirsty for knowledge because education will have a longer lasting benefit on them.
Observers at the event, including Mr. Jude Ikwueto, Chief Alphonsus Ikwueto, and Mrs Ifeoma Ezemuor, emphasized the importance of education as a determinant of an individual’s life quality and the foundation for development and progress in any society.
They also appreciated Mr Patrick Ikwueto, for his keen interest in the educational development of his community which will lead to sustainability.
