Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri has played host to its first ever Presidential aircraft.

The Presidential Jet-A Challenger had the Minister for Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige on board, accompanied by friends and business people.

Senator Ngige and his entourage were received by the Anambra state Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor and others.

The aircraft landed at exactly 12:23 pm yesterday and it is bigger than the aircraft that earlier took off and landed at the Anambra airport.

The airport has continued to make history, attracting large volumes of traffic since it was commissioned by Governor Willie Obiano.

Senator Ngige said he was highly impressed that in keeping to his words, Governor Obiano delivered an airport to Ndi Anambra which seemed to be a tall dream before now.

While narrating the economic benefits of the airport as enormous, the Senator said that with the airport in place, Anambra has been placed on the world map and that the socio-economic benefits will help to develop the state.

The Senator who said that the airport was built to take the biggest airplane in the world, expressed optimism that soon, bigger planes and airline operators will be authorized to operate the route.

Also speaking, the Commissioner, Engineer Ifejiofor expressed gratitude to the governor for the project, expressing optimism that bigger aircrafts will soon begin to ply the airport.

Anambra Broadcasting Service gathered that since December seventh 2021, over two thousand passengers have passed through the airport.

Earlier at 11:12 pm same yesterday, the All Progressives CongressCandidate in the last Anambra Gubernatorial election, Senator Andy Uba arrived at the Airport, with his family and friends.
