The Late Chief John Ofomata’s family of Isuofia, Aguata Council Area, wen mụ yt to the altar of God at Saint Patrick’s Parish Isuofia to thank God for his grace, blessings and mercies upon them more especially thanking him, for their mother, Mrs Beatrice Ofomata who is seventy-five years old and for her investiture as Ezinne.

 

Mrs Ofomata, a teacher, is the mother of Dr Amechi Marcel Ofomata of Amaecom Global Company and his siblings.

In a homily during the thanksgiving mass, the Parish Priest of Saint Patrick’s Parish Isuofia, Reverend Father Jude Mbanefo, welcomed all for year 2022 and asked them to work hard, be awake, vigilant, alert, wise and consecrate themselves to God and make him the Alfa and Omega of their lives.

 

Reverend Father Mbanefo cautioned them not to compromise their commitment to God stating that for them to triumph in their spiritual journey, they must be soldiers of Christ.

Narrating what being nurtured by their mother from childhood was like, Dr Amechi Ofomata who is the Chief Executive Officer of amaecom Global Company said though their father died early, his mother played important role in ensuring they become the men they are today, thanking God for the grace of motherhood saying that being grateful adds more to someone’s life.

 

Dr Ofomata noted that it is not only when one die that he or she can be celebrated, noting that it is good to celebrate someone in life and said that their mum is bold, contented, a disciplinarian and above all, hardworking, praying God to add more life to her.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Isuofia Community, Chief Ndubisi Osele, encouraged Ofomata family to emulate their mother’s character, noting that as a teacher, Mrs

Ofomata has a sterling character which helped her to hold her family after her husband’s death.

The first Son of the celebrant, Mr Uchechukwu Ofomata said they are celebrating their mother’s virtues, as she raised nine of them as a single mother when their father died even as he said their mother was committed to seeing them become resourceful and prominent.

Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports that thanksgiving proper, cutting of birthday cake, prayers by Mrs Ofomata for her children and different cultural displays added glamour to the celebration.
