The traditional ruler of Ochuche-Umuodu Community, in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, Igwe V.P.O. Ike-Ijeomah has conferred a traditional chieftaincy title of (Omekodinma) on the Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu.
Conferring the title on Chief Awogu, Igwe Ike-Ijomah described the TC Chairman, as a worthy son of Ogbaru whose noble deeds were worthy of recognition and emulation.
The monarch said the title was aimed at demonstrating to others that there is a reward for those who render selfless services to their communities and beyond.
He said the conferment was to encourage Chief Awogu as well as make others to emulate his good contributions to the development and advancement of the human person.
Speaking with newsmen moments after the conferment, Chief Awogu, expressed appreciation to the monarch and the people of Ochuche-Umuodu Kingdom for finding him worthy of the chieftaincy title.
He described the title as a call for more work towards the betterment of Ogbaru and humanity at large.
The Council boss who was full of gratitude to God for the honour and the success of the ceremony, promised that he will live up to the title and would be a good ambassador of the kingdom of Ochuche-Umuodu and Ogbaru Local Government Area.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries from all walks of life, including the President of the Nigerian Community in Côte d’Ivoire, Chief Emeka Onwuchelu, among others.
