Drug abuse ends all dreams and sends the abuser to hell disguised as heaven.
This statement summed up content of paper presented by Pharmacist Bankole Ezebuilo during the annual general meeting of Saint Charles Special Science School Old Boys Association, Class of 94, held in Awka.
The annual general meeting, which was held physically and virtually attracted members of the association within and outside Nigeria.
Pharmacist Ezebuilo, in his keynote speech that dwelt on “Drug Substance: Social Value Reconstruction Through Education”, called for school and community-based approaches to help reconstruct social values.
He further added that if the menace of drug abuse is allowed to continue, the society will soon be filled with people with unstable character.
Speaking on one of the objectives of the association, the President of the group, worldwide, Dr. Emeka Ezenaekwe noted that Saint Charles Special Science students are not trained to fear textbooks.
He however noted that his major concern presently is to restore the glory of the school and appealed to members of the association to join hands to drive the vision.
In his opening remark, the President of the association, Class of 94, Dr Chinedu Okonkwo disclosed that the annual general meeting is an avenue for the old boys to come together with their families, interact, rub minds together on how to positively affect one another’s life as well as give back to the society.
He recounted how the group began, and appreciated all that made the occasion a success.
In their separate comments, the Secretary of the association, Engineer Arinze Ezebialu, a member of the planning committee, Mr. Chukwudi Njelita and the Welfare Chief, Engineer Ugochukwu Eneasoto listed other activities the association carries out during the annual general meeting to including visiting orphanage homes, giving financial supports to wives of deceased members and invalid members, among others.
Queen Anigbogu reports that raffle draw, presentation of awards and prizes, as well as entertainment added colour to the occasion.
