David Ewenike Foundation has been launched at Nawfija, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

At the event held at Community Primary School field Nawfija, many people from Orumba North and South Local Government Areas, including students in various higher institutions, youths and women received educational support funds, motorcycles with safety kits, sewing machines, bags of Rice and cartons of noodles.

In his opening remark, the founder of David Ewenike Foundation, Ambassador David Ewenike said that the foundation will continue to focus on education, health, sports and entrepreneurship to serve as source of inspiration to the people of Orumba, promising that more of such empowerments will be coming in due course.

The traditional ruler of Nawfija, Igwe Clifford Okeke, who led other traditional rulers to the event, said society is in dire need of generous people like Ambassador Ewenike to uplift mankind, urging his subjects to consider.

On their parts, the chairman on the occasion, Mr. Gabriel Onwuzuruike, and Associate Professor Rose Nwankwo of Paul University Awka, said support to students by the David Ewenike Foundation is a great way of promoting education in Orumba, and urged the benefitting students to strive for excellence.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Messrs Emmanuel Okereke, Nnanyelugo Okoli and Miss Chisom Onyeana said what they received will help them achieve academic goals and improve economic status, praying God to reward the founder and members of the David Ewenike Foundation accordingly.

Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that the member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Okwudili Ezenwankwo, Honourable Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, represented by Barrister Uche Ezeibe, as well as Ada Orumba, Queen Francisca Okeke attended the event.
