It was grand entry for Igwe Godwin Odiegwu, as Abacha people in Idemmili North Local Government Area of Anambra state received him after receiving certificate of recognition from the Anambra State Government.

 

Displaying his certificate of recognition, while dancing round the community; with brief stop at Ezumezu square, where he was received by the Traditional Prime Minister of Abacha, Chief Paul Omofia, and former Nigerian Ambassador to South Africa, Ambassador Mrs. Uche-Ajulu Okeke, Igwe Odiegwu, joined by Ndi Ichie Abacha, the President General of the community, Chief Ifeanyi Okeke-Obata, among others, received accolades from his subjects, who were visibly happy over the certificate of recognition.

Addressing his subjects at the Ezumezu square, Igwe Odiegwu said the certificate of recognition has laid to rest contentious issues around and about his ascendance to the throne, calling on Ndi Abacha to give him maximum cooperation in order to achieve set goals.

 

Chief Omofia and Ambassador Okeke said the development will further strengthen bond of unity among people of the community, and wished Igwe Odiegwu successful reign.

Other illustrious sons of the community, including Chief Jonas Okafor, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Community Liason, Chief Ugochukwu Onyekwelu, and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Projects, and Former President General of the community, Mr. Jeffery Ubah, who commended giant steps Igwe Odiegwu had taken to further development of the community, called on Ndi Abacha to rally round the Igwe for all-round development of the community.

Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that Igwe Odiegwu’s coronation and recognition by the State followed the suspension and withdrawal of certificate of former Traditional ruler of the community, Engineer Godwin Mbakwe, by the Anambra state government, on the recommendation of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council.
