Anambra State command of the Federal Road Safety Commission says it will soon begin the clampdown on violators of speed limit.

The sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra State Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi who disclosed this in an interview with Abuchi Nwozor in Awka said that the clampdown is part of efforts by the Federal Road Safety Commission to reduce the high rate of accidents as a result of over speeding by motorists.

Mr Irelewuyi regretted that some Motorists are not making proper use of Speed limit device, and called on such people to adapt immediately or face the wrath of the commission

He tasked Road users on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations in addition to ensuring that their vehicles are in good condition before plying the highway in order not to endanger the life of other road users

Mr Irelewuyi while calling on the people to see Road Safety as a collective responsibility, advised Motorists to always update their vehicle particulars especially Driver’s license to save themselves the embarrassment of Officers and Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission and other security agencies.

He said that the collaboration between the Federal Road Safety Commission and other traffic and security agencies will be sustained this year for positive results.

Mr Irelewuyi Commended the Anambra State Government for its support to the Federal Road Safety Commission and called for its sustainability

He said that the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra State will engage and train more people as special Marshalls in addition to partnering some groups including the Rotary club and individuals for quality Service delivery
