The final funeral rites of the late Reverend Father Professor Celestine Obi of Umuchigbo Village, Umudioka, Dunukofia Local Government Area, which started with a requiem Mass at Saint Anthony Catholic Church Umudioka, which attracted members of the clergy, friends, family, and well-wishers who came to pay their last respect to the deceased.
The late Reverend Father Professor Obi, who died at the age of eighty-three, was until his death, a professor of theology.
Correspondent, Onyinye Agubaeze reports that in a homily during his burial Mass, a visiting priest, Reverend Father Sylvanus Nnoruka testified that the late Reverend Father Professor Obi lived a life, dedicated to the service of God and humanity.
Reverend Father Nnoruka further described the deceased as a formator, well-disciplined and meticulous man, who cared for his community and all that came in contact with him.
While condoling with the family of the deceased, the college of priests, led by Reverend Father Theophilus Odukwe, regretted the demise of their member saying that he was a man, who impacted positively on many lives and left a good legacy.
Members of the Catholic Women Organization, Saint Anthony Catholic Church Umudioka, led by Lady Uche Ikegbunnam, also commiserated with the bereaved family.
Thanking all, who came to commiserate with the family, the deceased nephews, including Mr. Simon Obi, Mr. Michael Anochie, and Chief Emmanuel Obi said that their uncle impacted positively in their lives and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
