Former Miss Chinwendu Ononuju of Ugwu Cheleku Obahu Village Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area has tied the nuptial knot with her heartthrob, Mr. Onyebuchi Ejefo of Ezenwelike Eziora Village Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

Former Miss Ononuju is the daughter of Mrs. Franca Ononuju of the Programmes Department, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS.

 

Correspondent Emengini Osadebe reports that the event took place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ozubulu.

In his homily, the parish priest, Reverend Father Anselem Oluo, urged the new couple not to allow the love they have for God and for each other to wax cold as it is the bane of their marriage survival and urged them to shun third party and gossip.

 

During their wedding reception at Ezenwelike Eziora Ozubulu Town Hall, the chairman on the occasion, Chief Theodor Nwobi emphasised that marriage needs tolerance and perseverance to survive.

 

In  separate interviews, the parents of the groom, Chief Samuel and Mrs. Antonia Ejefo appreciated God for the opportunity given to them to witness the wedding of their son and prayed God to bless their union with lots of love, peace and happiness.

The mother of the bride, Mrs. Ononuju, who said her joy knew no bounds, thanked God for a dream come true and advised her daughter to love and respect her husband.

 

The couple, Mr. Onyebuchi and Mrs. Chinwendu Ejefo thanked God for the love that brought them this far and promised to love and cherish each other.

 

The former Director of Programmes, ABS, Mrs. Kate IG-Okeke, and the President, Catholic Women Organization, Saint Dominic Catholic Church Fegge Onitsha, Mrs. Calista Onyeka congratulated the couple and advised them to make Christ the captain of their ship.

The wedding ceremony featured exchange of marital vows, cutting of cake and dance by the couple.
