The Anambra State Library Board yesterday, took cancer awareness campaign to students and pupils at Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The event, which was part of the activities by the library board to mark the 2022 Cancer Awareness Campaign, attracted students, pupils as well as parents and guardians from the area and beyond.

Speaking during the event, the Director, Anambra State Library Board, Dr. Nkechi Udeze said that the aim of the campaign was to teach the children about cancer, its causes and how to prevent it, as according to her, the disease sometimes is caused by what people eat or drink.

Dr. Udeze urged the participants to continue to spread the cancer awareness campaign message and mind the type of lifestyle they live, in order to stay away from the deadly disease.

X-raying the meaning of cancer, its causes, types and prevention, a resource person, Dr. Arinze Ijezie, enumerated the different types, and identified breast cancer as the most killer of all the cancer diseases.

Dr. Ijezie maintained that early detection and treatment is key to eradicating cancer in the society and called for all hands to be on deck in checkmating the ugly disease.
