The remains of Late Mrs. Margaret Nwobu of Ngene Village, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area have been committed to earth at her husband’s home in Anambra.
Late Mrs Nwobu, Nee Nwobu Ozona, passed on at the age of eighty-nine and was a devout Catholic.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the late Mrs Nwobu was the mother of Mrs Franca Aronu, a staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Awka, while her burial was attended by both nuclear and extended family members, colleagues and age grades who were on ground to pay final respect to the deceased adjudged to have touched lives of every member of her family and community with sincerity and unparalleled love.
In a homily during the requiem mass, the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas-Benson Okoye said the deceased lived a fulfilled and impactful life.
A former member that represented Awka North and South at the Green chambers Honourable Anayo Nnebe, described the death of Mrs Nwobu, his aunt, as a big blow to him, saying she was exemplary and a peace maker.
As usual, the ABS family led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Uche Nworah with other Directors and Manager News Mr. Abuchi Nwozor who trooped out enmass to commiserate with the family of the deceased, charged the children to imbibe and sustain the legacies of their late mother, praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Some children of the deceased including Mr. George Nwobu and Mrs. Franca Aronu Described their mother as heroine who was passionate and dedicated in the service of God and humanity, praying for eternal repose of her soul.
Condolences from family members and colleagues climaxed the funeral ceremony
