The Assistant Corps Commander in charge of operations in the Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, Mr. Egwuokike Ike has cautioned Motorists against careless driving.

 

Speaking on ABS Radio and Television Programme, Tonimas Half hour, Mr. Ike who blamed the high rate of accidents on the highways on careless driving and dangerous over takings, charged Motorists to always put their vehicles in good condition before plying the highways.

 

The Assistant Corps Commander who described Road Safety as everybody’s business said that the command in Anambra State will intensify the campaign on sensitising the public on the need to always obey the traffic rules.

 

He Commended the Anambra State Government for its support to the Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State as well as the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission Anambra State, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi for his motivation and called for its sustainability.

 

Mr. Ike used the opportunity to call on owners of broken vehicles on the highways to remove them immediately or face the consequences.

 

Some callers on the programme Commended the Federal Road Safety Corps for all its efforts to reduce carnage on the highways and urged them not to relent.
