Hundreds of sympathizers yesterday gathered at the home of Mr. Kingsley Nwana of Umuorji Village, Enugwu-ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area, to offer words of consolation and hope to the family, as the body of his wife, late Mrs. Blessing Nwana, nee Onwuemelie, was laid to rest.
Late Mrs. Nwana, who died at the age of fifty-two was, until her death, an employee of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata was there and reports that many sympathizers were visibly sorrowful at the graveside of the deceased as the officiating priest, Venerable Chris Ogbodo caused them to reflect on Job chapter fourteen verse One, ‘‘that any man born of woman has short time to live.
The husband of the deceased, Mr. Kingsley Nwana said though death is inevitable, the vacuum death of his wife has created can not be filled by anyone as his wife was very dear to him and their children.
Grieving the loss of their mother, Master Chukwuewuzie and Miss Chinazaekpere said the sweet memories of their late mother will remain forever in their hearts.
The Management and Staff of ABS led by the Director of News and Current Affairs Department, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze were among those who commiserated with their late staff.
Mr. Okpalaeze, who represented the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Dr. Uche Nworah described the deceased as a dedicated staff who developed personal relationship with all her colleagues, urging the family to take solace as the deceased lived a worthy life.
Earlier in a burial service held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Enugwu-ukwu, the Archdeacon of Enugwu-ukwu Arch-deaconry, Venerable Ogbodo, urged Christians to always keep faith and develop personal relationship with God as everyone must give account of his life on earth.
Husband, children, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister, survive the deceased, whose funeral ceremony featured condolences from various families, age grades, friends and well-wishers.
