Adinma Awkuzu Responds To Obiano’s Aku Lue Uno Call, Builds, Hands Over Comprehensive Health Centre

Communities in Anambra state have continued to answer the Aku luo uno call by Governor Obiano in developing their communities .

Latest on the row is Awkuzu community in Oyi Local Government Area where an association known as, Adinma Awkuzu built and handed over a comprehensive medical center to their community.

Correspondent Ngozi Obileri covered the commissioning ceremony and reports that the Comprehensive Medical center commissioned by Governor Willie Obiano  has all the facilities seen in general hospitals and was constructed to be affiliate of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka.

The Commissioner for Health Dr Vincent Okpala while commending Adinma Awkuzu group of professionals, wished that communities in Anambra would emulate them in developing their towns, and said that the hospital is under the Anambra state Ministry of Health whose duty it is to post personnel to complement the existing personnel.

Also, the Commissioner for Commerce and Wealth creation, Mr. Uchenna Okafor, a native of Awkuzu and a member of Adinma Awku, expressed appreciation to Governor Obiano for giving approval for the hospital and thanked the benefactors for a job well done.

The Chairman of Adinma  Awkuzu  Engineer Patrick Igwilo and his Vice Chief Emeka Ndu went down memory lane on why they introduced the group.

Other members of the group including a former Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategies, in Anambra State  Chief Tony Nnachetta, his Finance Counterpart, Mr. Eze Echesi, the Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Works Engineer Austine Nnanyelugo, all members of Adinma Awkuzu association said they were happy to serve their community in that capacity and would continue to champion anything that would improve the livelihood of members of their community even as they said that the hospital is big enough to accommodate people from within and outside the state.

The event featured Ijele masquerade dance and dances from women groups in the community while members of Adinma Awkuzu association later danced round the hospital.
