The National Board for Technology Incubation, South-East Zone has organized a Science, Technology and Industrial Conference on “Technology Sourcing, Linkages and Collaboration with some Industries and academia at Nnewi”

Chimezie Umeh reports that the conference was aimed at establishing a synergy between technology, technological Innovations and industries.

In her speech, the Zonal-Director of National Board for Technology Incubation South-East Dr Uche Chukwu represented by a Zonal Deputy Director, Dr Ngọzi Chijioke stated that the mandate of the agency is to nurture start-up and development of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, engaging in value added technology within Anambra and environs, thereby helping to promote Nigeria’s indigenous potential for economic development.

She said that the agency identifies talent and channel them through the inculcation process towards wealth creation, employment generation, value reorientation, poverty eradication and finally into a successful individual.

A member of the board and Chairman Committee on Collaboration and Linkages Chief Cletus Amaraegbu advised Ndigbo to love one another and be the entrepreneur they were born to be.

Chief Amaraegbu an Engineer encouraged the participants to utilize the opportunities by the agency in order to actualize the aim of the organization.

Mr Chukwuemeka Amonye in a paper presentation stressed that government agencies, academia and industries must collaborate for enhanced economic development.

Members of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Bank of Industry, members of Raw Materials Research and Development Council, representatives of the Organized Private Sector, Young Entrepreneurs amongst others attended the event.

Interactive session and exhibition of finished products from the young entrepreneurs of the innovation centre was the high point of the conference.
