The remains of ninety-three year- old late madam Roseline  Obiora, whom many refer to as “mother of the poor”, have been laid to rest at her husband’s home in Etiti village Enugwu-Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area of the State.

Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Dr Jonas Benson Okoye, the Traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche and one-time Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area and illustrious son of the community, Chief Emeka Onuora, who commiserated with the Obiora family over the death, enjoined them to sustain the legacies of their mother, whom they said gave society well-behaved children.

Earlier at a requiem mass for the deceased at St John’s Catholic Church Enugwu-Agidi, Reverend Father Clement Muozoba, from St Francis of Assisi Parish Awka, urged Christians to emulate virtues of the deceased, recalling how the late madam Roseline offered comfort to colleagues during apostolic work at Enugwu-Agidi.

The Parish Priest of St John’s Catholic Church, Enugwu-Agidi, Reverend Father Michael-Kins Okpala, described the deceased as a faithful and practicing Catholic, and prayed for her eternal rest.

Speaking after interment, children of the deceased, including Dr. Dave Obiora, Innocent Obiora, Mrs. Christiana Ucheonwu and Uju Don said living out their mother’s legacies is the best way to immortalize her, and promised to do so.

Relatives, friends and well-wishers from all walks of life later took turns to pay condolence visits to the Obiora family.
