The Pentecostal Movement in collaboration with other groups have held Anambra day of prayer for the church, state and nations.
The Prayer Summit which was coordinated by Rhema Intercessory Ministries International and Bethel City Umunze was held at the Dominion Chapel Agu Oye Awka.
The summit had several ministers of God in attendance, who converged to pray for the incoming government, peace and calm atmosphere in the society.
The prayer summit which had the theme “consolidation of the foundation for a new Anambra state” started off with praise and worship by the band.
Professor Nkechinyere Nwokoye who led the first prayer session on thanksgiving, in her prayers appreciated God for the incumbent Governor Chief Willie Obiano and the incoming Governor, Professor Charles Soludo.
In another prayer session, Professor Sam Okeke made a declaration over the incoming Governor Professor Soludo that whatever that is not of God that may have any influence on him will never prevail.
In his welcome address, the convener, Bishop Chris Madu pointed out that the vision for praying for a holistic transformation of Anambra state was birthed in the year 2001 and 2002 and has since then been going on in the state.
Lending his voice was the State Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Moses Ezedebego who said that the mandate and mission of the church is to pray and see those in leadership succeed noted that it is their duty to uplift, backup and surround the incoming administration with prayers and words of God to have a better Anambra.
Highlight of the event was the joint prayer by all the anointed men of God present to enthrone the incoming governor, during which the immediate younger brother of Professor Charles Soludo who was in attendance at the prayer summit stood in the gap for the incoming governor.
Dr. Soludo in his speech expressed his gratitude on how people from different spheres of the world bore the burden to see to the success of the 2021 gubernatorial election which led to the emergence of his brother as the winner of the election.
