Anambra State House of Assembly says outgoing Governor Willie Obiano moved Anambra State to unprecedented heights within the eight years of his administration.
The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor disclosed this during a valedictory session in honour of the outgoing Governor Obiano by the House during plenary in Awka.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim was there and reports that according to the Speaker, the House deemed it necessary to organize the valedictory session in honour of the Governor, taking cognizance of the numerous strides his administration has recorded in the State.
Right Honourable Okafor noted that apart from the conventional achievements the Obiano administration made in virtually all sectors of the State economy, Governor Obiano went the extra miles in building monumental projects of international standard.
He identified Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport Umueri, Anambra International Convention Center, Awka, Awka city stadium, construction of, three gigantic flyovers in Awka capital territory to ease traffic in the capital city among others as signature projects Governor Obiano bequeathed to Ndi Anambra.
On his part, the member representing Orumba South Constituency, Chief Emma Nwafor said that Governor Obiano left a lot of indelible mark that cannot be forgotten.
The lawmaker observed that the developmental strides of the Governor cut across all the sectors in the State and commended him for finishing strong
In their separate speeches, the Chief Whip of the House, Sir Pete Ibida, the member representing Anaocha Constituency Two, Sir Ejike Okechukwu and his Dunukofia Constituency counterpart, Chief Lawrence Ezeudu described the Governor as beautiful gift to the State, stressing that he performed exceedingly well in office.
