Isuofia Community has celebrated the inauguration of their son; Professor Chukwumma Soludo as the Governor of Anambra State, expressing confidence that he will make a difference in governance with positive results.

Correspondent, Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that Isuofia Civic Centre in Agauata Local Government Area played host to indigenes of the community and others within the local government area, who gathered to celebrate the swearing-in of Professor Soludo as the sixth Executive Governor of Anambra state.

Some indigenes who converged early at the civic centre listened to Governor Soludo’s inaugural speech with keen interest and applause, as they watched the live transmission of the inauguration ceremony which held at Government House in Awka.

 

During the traditional rite of breaking kolanut, the Traditional ruler of Isuofia, Igwe Christopher Moughalu thanked God for a successful inauguration and noted that they are proud of their son, and have no doubt that he will not only do the community but the entire Anambra State and the federation proud, praying for God’s guidance as he pilots the affairs of the State.

On his part, the President General of Isuofia Progressive Assembly, Mr. Jude Chukwukadibia said there is no better time to be proud of being an Isuofia indigene, emphasizing that with the transformation of the banking sector by Professor Soludo as the then Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, there is no denying the fact that Soludo will make a difference.

 

The President General of Aguluezechukwu community, Mr. Ikechukwu Okeke, the Chief Executive Officer of AMAECOM Global, Chief Marcel Ofomata, and one of the events organizing committee member, Ichie Anyaogu Uwa, also expressed joy that they are alive to witness such an interesting event in the history of Anambra State, and emphasized that there will be visible turn around in governance of the State.

Others who spoke at the event, including the leader of Isuofia Women Council, Mrs. Agatha Nworah and a youth, Mr. Innocent Chiemelie said Professor Soludo’s inauguration is a new dawn for Anambra State, saying that he is well prepared for the assignment, and praying for more wisdom to lead the State to greater heights.

 

Music performances by men and women groups, as well as masquerade displays were parts of the event.
