All Soludo Support Groups of Old Aguata Union, known as OAU/ASSG has celebrated the inauguration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the sixth democratically elected Governor of Anambra State.
Old Aguata Union comprises all the communities in the old Aguata Local Government Area which are now Aguata, Orumba North and South Local Government Areas.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata, reports that the celebration took place at Aguata Local Government Area Headquarters, Ekwulobia, with stakeholders from communities that make up the union, members of the All- Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, among others in attendance.
The steering committee of the union accompanied by traditional drummers danced round the event venue, showcasing the mood of the celebration.
In an address, the leader of OAU/ASSG and wife of former Late Vice President of Nigeria, Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwueme, thanked the ‘All Soludo Support Groups’ for its sustained hard work and for contributing its quota to the election of Governor Soludo and tasked them to sustain support in every step the governor takes towards the realization of all projects he promised Ndi Anambra.
In their remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Dr. Chima Okoli, and the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Prince Neville Uchendu, who described Professor Soludo as a true son of Aguata, stated that his enthronement is a clear indication that light has come to the state.
In their separate speeches, the member representing Orumba North at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honorable Emeka Aforka, former member that represented Aguata One Constituency at the state Assembly, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh, and Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, called for more support from members of OAU-ASSG.
Some stakeholders from the union, including a one-time chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Chief Titus Anigbogu, the chairman, Winco Foam, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Okafor and the secretary of OAU-ASSG, Comrade Akachukwu Igwebuike charged the group to give Governor Soludo all round support for quality governance.
The traditional ruler of Oko Community, Igwe Laz Ekwueme was among the dignitaries that attended the event.
